Who we are

Laboratorio Materiali Polimerici Ecocompatibili (LMPE) born as a big challenge of the embarked upon Luca Landini and Prof. Emo Chiellini at the high of almost 35 years of collaborations.

Spin-off of the Interuniversity National Consortium for the Science and Tecnology of Materials (INSTM), it takes office in the Capannori Scientific Park at the end of 2016. In the first months of 2017, Eng. Francesco Sandias joins the team and few months later the Innovative Start-up’s work are begun.

Nowadays it’s a Benefit Corporation with high qualified staff dedicated to Research and Development, Analysis of Materials, processes and technologies in the field of polymeric materials with a focus on eco-compatible, biodegradable, and compostable manifactured goods, semi-finished and finished products, as well as the evaluation of environmental impact assessment of products.

LMPE uses the approach of technological transfer of know-how towards industry as a lever, with particular reference to product and process innovation and the Circular Economy. In fact, for this reason we have been signatory members of ICESP, Italian Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform.

Our lab takes place in a modern and well-equipped building, designed to meet the needs of different scientific areas. It has a range of spaces specialized for different purposes, such as chemical, biological, and physical laboratories. Consequently, each area is equipped with the necessary equipment and infrastructure to conduct advanced research.

Daily attended by a multidisciplinary team of highly qualified researchers that actively collaborate in the exchange of knowledge and skills. Such professionals, scientists, technicians, and research assistants, work together to achieve common goals.

Partnership

We are strongly committed in collaborating with Research Institutes, Universities and other Companies in the sector. We are proud of the agreements signed with the Universities of Pisa, Teramo, Padova, Firenze, and other international universities. The partnership extends to the accompaniment of students and researchers in the path of master’s thesis and Ph.D..

These collaborations allow us to access a vast network of experts, exchange knowledge, and leverage synergies to address complex challenges. We also work directly with our customers to understand their specific needs and develop customized solutions that meet their requirements.

In addition, LMPE is Infhidro‘s official laboratory for their range of water-soluble products (films, bags, reels, etc.).
