“Additive manufacturing for an Industry 4.0” is the theme of the workshop scheduled for Friday, July 19 from 9.00 to 13.30 at the Science Park of Capannori in Segromigno in Monte. The initiative promoted by the Municipality of Capannori, Scuola Normale Superiore, LMPE, Lucense, and Artes 4.0, in collaboration with the Foundation “Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca”, aims to explore the opportunities offered by the transition to industry 4.0.
After the greetings, scheduled at 9.30 am, the Councilor for Innovation and Technology of the Municipality of Capannori, Lucia Micheli, Luigi Rolandi, director of the NEST laboratory (Scuola Normale Superiore), and Lorenzo Sabatini DT Materiali, will take place in the morning some technical interventions. Some researchers involved in the issues of additive manufacturing – the mode of production that allows the realization of objects (component parts, semi-finished or finished products) through machines with additive technology, i.e. 3D printers, will show some of the latest technological advances, illustrating how these will find application in the near future with some concrete examples. We will also talk about the new opportunities offered by ARTES 4.0, the new national center of competence on Industry 4.0, which aims to support companies in their process of transition to these new modes of production. In particular, the activities of the macro-node ARTES 4.0 of the Scuola Normale Superiore and the possibilities of project-based financing for the companies concerned will be described.
Following the interventions in the program: Chiara Cappelli, coordinator ARTES 4.0, Macro-node Scuola Normale Superiore “The center of expertise ARTES 4.0: nodes, strategies and prospects of cooperation and funding”; Andrea Camposeo, researcher CNR-NEST: “Additive manufacturing of nanocomposites: a versatile platform for multiple applications”; Stefano Petrella, Certema director: “Additive manufacturing: a global approach. From topological optimization to product controls”; Federica Chiellini and Dario Puppi UNIPI, Biolab: “Polymer Additive Manufacturing in the Biomedical Industry 4.0; Michele Lanzetta UNIPI, Engineering: “Recent developments of national research on additive technologies”; Lucia Perez, LMPE: “Footwear: Additive Manufacturing Redesign Everything”; Alberto Cigada, NextMaterials srl: “PolyPaper e ShockPaper: the paper plastic designed for 3D printing with high energy absorption.”.
